I am a religious sister of the Congregation of St. Joseph since 2001.  I was drawn to the CSJ’s global mission “rooted in the mission of Christ, to bring all into unity with God.”  Their works of social justice for the marginalized continues to inspire me.

However, my first calling or vocation was to motherhood.  I have been blessed with 2 children, many grandchildren and recently great grandchildren.  In addition to motherhood, God has called me to nursing, hospital chaplaincy, teacher of theology and parish work.  I have completed studies in nursing at LSU-E, and studies in theology through FranU of Baton Rouge and Loyola University of New Orleans, as well as the Salt and Light institute of Canada.  These studies and all the classes provided by the sisters steeped in Ignatian Spirituality prepared me for God’s next call.

I felt the call to give back as others had given to me.  I had been blessed with spiritual directors either formally or informally since I was in my 20’s.  That guidance, along with counseling, carried me through tragic times and crossroads of discernment.  In response, I completed the Internship Program for Spiritual Directors through the Archdiocese of New Orleans in 2022.

For me, spiritual direction is an engagement in Holy Listening to the sacred stories of others.  I have humbly witnessed the Holy Spirit’s revelation of God’s Presence in the life journey of my directees.  I love seeing my directees’ Ahh moments as they are inspired with understanding and wisdom.  I rejoice in the growth of their prayer lives with the practice of Lectio Divina or Contemplative Prayer or prayer with nature or art.  As the Holy Spirit makes known to a troubled directee that they are a loved sinner, a beloved child of God (as we all are), my heart sings.  Spiritual Direction allows me to profoundly see the face of Christ in others.

I am currently taking new directees, available to provide Spiritual Direction in person at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, and virtually via Zoom.  I can provide direction for 3 and 5 day retreats.  Flexible hours. Open to direction of people of various faith beliefs and am a safe place for members of the LGBTQ plus community.
