If you desire a deeper relationship with God and want to improve your ability to discern God’s will for your daily life, then a spiritual director can be a helpful guide for your journey. I’ve met with a spiritual director regularly for well over a dozen years and saw that transformation in myself. In 2018, my director led me week by week through the Nineteenth Annotation, the entire spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius, over a nine-month period. My parents and a dear friend were in the last stages of life at that time and my closeness to God strengthened me to do all I could do for them with love.
Going through the spiritual direction training program was a natural step for me. It gives me great joy to offer to others the kind of guidance that has enriched my life. My directees and retreatants continually teach me things as I see God working in them and it becomes a beautiful shared journey for both of us with the Lord. I am married to Henry who serves as a family physician in Ville Platte. Our three children and six grandchildren live out of town, leaving me flexible time to offer spiritual direction.
